The City of Calgary's three new artificial turf fields located in Shouldice Athletic Park are open for business, today.Beginning at 8:30 a.m. customers will be able to email, phone, or book in person for the 2010 season.

Due to fewer rainouts and a longer playing season, these artificial fields will provide the more than 100 community sports clubs with an additional 1500 hours of field-time annually.
The City of Calgary worked in partnership with The Greater Calgary Amateur Football Association to develop the turf fields.
The fields are designed to draw water to the sidelines quickly, resulting in fewer rainouts and an increased playing season. Football, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, field lacrosse, field hockey and rugby can all utilize the fields, which do not require irrigation, fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides or cutting.

This will be so good for the community of Montgomery. Those fields are beautiful. Montgomery real estate is going to really go up in value. Montgomery Triangle is Awesome!! It is the 45 or so homes bordering on these amateur football fields.
ReplyDeleteShouldice is looking great. The workers are still working to make it even more beautiful. It is the Premier best sports facility in Canada for amateur sport. Exclusive new restaurants are starting to pop up in the community of Montgomery. Good to see that this beautiful, riverfront community that is filled with different sports facilities is starting to get noticed, Montgomery Triangle is Awesome!! Montgomery is the place to be.
ReplyDeleteI attended my nephews bantam football game which was played in Shouldice on weekend on the Encana field. What a beautiful facility. It seems to have popped up overnight. Shouldice was always lovely with the river and all, but these new fields are awesome. Shouldice is a fantastic facility for all athletes. Montgomery seems to be really coming along as well, I was surprised at all the new businesses and restuarants.
ReplyDeleteI would like to congratulate all the organizations and people involved in revamping the Shouldice Football Fields. We attended a few of the championship Calgary High School Football games this past week and we were happy to see that the stands were almost completely full! The fields are wonderful and we've noticed fewer injuries to the players on the new turf - now just to fix the road and this will be a first class facility. Linda
ReplyDeleteThese fields and the entire facility are truly beautiful. Reminds of the movie "field of dreams" when you see the fields lit up at night. The view from the top of Home road is Amazing. Road is pretty frightening and needs to be fixed up. Montgomery is Awesome and Shouldice is amazing!!
