The 2010 Spring recreation guide is now available. New for spring is an enhanced new Interactive Online Program Guide, that makes finding and registering for programs quick and easy.“People can now search for a program by activity, location, or age,” said Gail Gibbons-Chomiak, a Marketing Strategist with Recreation.
The online registration is one more way to sign-up for classes, along with phoning in, filling out a form or simply walking to a facility in person.
The City of Calgary Recreation offers thousands of award winning programs at a variety of locations all over the city. Programs include dancing, art, hiking, sailing, birding, swimming
and plenty more.To register online, please call 403-268-3800 to obtain a PIN number and barcode.

Wow!!! This is great! I am a single mother of 2 and always register my children in various programs with the city but have always had a difficult time finding the courses until most were full or nearly finished. This puts everything at my fingertips so that I can have the Big Picture. So happy to see this!! Excellent work!
ReplyDeleteThank you!!
The new guide is awesome and really intuitive. The filtering works well and i'd love to see that refined with more variables (ages for childrens' programs or dates) into the future. I'd also suggest having the results collapsed so that there is not quite so much scrolling.
ReplyDeleteNicely done!

ReplyDeleteThank you, these comments are really helpful and we want to continually enhance this search tool. We are working on some new and different filters to help people find what they need. With the number of programs we offer, we know that scrolling through a long list can be frustrating. We will see what we can do to make this better. Also, we hope to have a map available soon for customers to find and search our facilities for programs, and show them features and photographs.
Thanks,
Barry
