Be instrumental in the Calgary community

You’ve probably heard of a bottle drive and you’ve probably heard of a blood drive, but have you heard that The City of Calgary is having an instrument drive? The Calgary AfterSchool program and the Legacy Children’s Foundation are working in harmony to give children and youth the ability to make their own music.

As a result of this program, kids involved in Calgary AfterSchool music programs will have opportunities to develop musical talent with help from donations of musical instruments from Calgarians.

Calgarians who want to jump on the band wagon can make donations at any of the following locations throughout the month of September:
  • Kerby Centre in downtown Calgary, 1133 - 7 Avenue S.W., Mon-Fri: 8am-4pm
  • The Planet Coffee Roasters, 101 – 83 Bowridge Drive N.W. Mon-Sun: 6am-9pm
  • The One World Drum Company, 3415b - 26 Avenue S.W., Tues-Sat: Noon–6 pm
  • St. Johns Music, 105 - 58th Avenue S.E, Mon-Sat: 9:30am-6pm, Sun: Noon-5pm
  • Music Centre Canada North, Bay I – 2020 - 32 Avenue N.E., Mon-Fri: 10am-9pm, Sat: 10am-6pm, Sun: noon-5pm
The instrument drive will crescendo in a musical celebration at the Kerby Centre in downtown Calgary on September 25th. Local musicians and youth who are supported by the Legacy Children’s Foundation Gift of Music program will perform at the event.
