Meet Rio and Ranger, Calgary Police Service Mounted Unit members

Calgary Police Services asked the public to choose from six short-listed monikers for the newest members of their Mounted Unit team and more than 1,700 people voted!

Votes coming from across Canada, the United States, The united Kingdom, France and even Australia spoke loudly in favour of the names Rio and Ranger, which received more than 44 per cent of the total tally.

Contest winners and twin girls Emma and Mackenzie made an appearance inside the bay the Calgary Police Services Traffic Section office today and have made arrangements to spend a day with the newest Mounted Unit family members in the spring.

Sara Korman and Jeff Marsh were also lucky winners selected from more than 100 entries to visit the horses in spring.
