Grand public opening of the East Village Experience Centre

You may have heard some of the buzz about the opening of the East Village neighbourhood lately. That might be because the good people at the Calgary Municipal Land Corporation (CMLC) are throwing Calgarians an exclusive sneak peek of the new neighbourhood at the grand public opening of the East Village Experience Centre.

“We’re inviting Calgarians to discover the East Village,” says Clare Nolan, CMLC marketing manager. “The event will include interactive touchscreens, 3D models, video and a tour of some the show suites including FIRST and Evolution.” These show suites are the first residential offerings by East Village developer partners, Embassy Bosa and FRAM+Slokker.

Once fully developed, the East Village will be situated on 49 acres along the Bow and Elbow Rivers and will consist of pedestrian-focused streetscapes, a National Music Centre and a robust calendar of community focused events and activities. As a part of the official grand opening, Calgarians will get a first glance at how the new area will look upon completion. The heart of the East Village Experience Centre features a 3D model of the full neighbourhood.

“2012 will be an important year for Calgary and East Village,” says Clare. “Not only is this the launch of residential sales in East Village but this year we will also celebrate the opening of the third phase of RiverWalk, continued progress in streetscape enhancements.”

The grand public opening of the East Village Experience Centre will take place located on Saturday, March 24 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. located at 553 Riverfront Ave. The event is expected to feature food trucks, games and access to Experience Centre ambassadors to answer any questions regarding the new development.
