A “behind-the-horses” look at the Stampede Parade

Every year our City services pull together to help with the Calgary Stampede parade; and a big part of the parade is making sure our streets stay clean both during and after the event.

The Office of Roads rolls out 16 street sweepers to get the job done, and drapes some of them in western wear to boot. “Critter Sweepers” are disguised as animals, but serve the functional purpose of picking up after the real ones trotting along the parade route.

Here’s a sweeper’s eye view, “Critters” and all, of how Roads keeps those streets in working order.
