The Citizen's Police Academy wants you!

It's now accepting applications for the Fall Session which begins on September 12, 2012.

The Academy is a  twelve week program held every Wednesday evening for three hours. During each session, speakers from various specialty units in the Calgary Police Service highlight the diverse nature of policing and the services and opportunities that the Calgary Police Service provides to its community. These specialty units include the Tactical Team, Drug Unit, Crime Prevention, Traffic Section, Fitness and Wellness, Major Crimes and more.Tours of several police facilities are also scheduled during the course.

Applicants must successfully pass security clearance prior to being accepted into the program. To apply, visit the Police Information Check Unit located at 5111 47 St. N.E. in person.  Bring two pieces of government-issued identification one of which must have a photo. Current volunteers with the Calgary Police Service only need to call.  There is no charge to apply. For more information please contact the Chief Crowfoot Learning Centre at 403-428-8960.

  1. I see that this is dated 2012. I'm wondering if there is another program scheduled to begin in 2013?
