Transportation info. sessions hit Calgary-area malls

The Transportation department is hitting area malls over the next several weeks to meet with Calgarians and share ideas on how to keep Calgary on the move.

Starting this week, staff will be at several malls throughout Calgary to share information on major transportation-related projects on the go and chat about proposed spending over the next 10 years. We also want to hear from Calgarians on what changes or improvements you feel would most benefit you, your family and your daily commute.

The intent of the community information sessions is three-fold:

1.) Increase awareness of and get input on the Transportation Infrastructure
Investment Program (TIIP) Investing in Mobility
o Priority spending areas
o Where funding comes from
o How money is allocated and what the funding gap is
o Specific spending areas
2.) Increase public awareness of RouteAhead, our long-range strategic plan for
     Calgary Transit
3.) Share information on the services and programs Transportation provides
      to Calgarians

The first event at Bankers’ Hall is intended to target downtown workers over the lunch hour. It runs Wednesday, Sept. 12 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Staff will then hit four malls around the city to meet with Calgarians. Here's a list of dates, times and locations so you can pick the mall most convenient for you.
