Thanksgiving 2012 holiday hours of operation for City of Calgary facilities
City Administrative Offices
All administrative offices will be closed on Monday, October 8, 2012 and will re-open on Tuesday, October 9, 2012.
Calgary Transit will provide a Sunday level of service on the holiday Monday, October 8.
On Saturday, October 6 through Monday, October 8 and Saturday, October 13 through Sunday, October 14 the 7 Avenue CTrain corridor will be closed to continue tie-in work to the West LRT. Shuttle services will be available.

Residential blue, black and green cart collection
Residential collection schedules for blue, black and green carts are not affected by the Thanksgiving holiday.
Community Recycling Depots
Collection at Community Recycling Depots is not affected by the Thanksgiving holiday.
All City of Calgary landfills – East Calgary, Spyhill and Shepard – will be open from 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. on the Thanksgiving holiday, Monday, Oct. 8.

Seven City of Calgary arenas are open for free public skating from 1 – 2:30 p.m. Participating arenas are listed here. The arenas at Southland and Village Square Leisure Centres are open for public skating, but regular admission applies. Check the public skate schedule here. All other arenas will be closed on Monday, October 8, with the exception of approved bookings.
All Athletic Parks will be closed on Monday, October 8, with the exception of approved, advance bookings. Aquatics and Fitness Centres: Five City of Calgary pools will be open for free public swimming between 1 – 4:30 p.m. Participating pools are listed here. All other aquatics and fitness centres are closed on Monday, October 8.
Southland Leisure Centre is open from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Regular admission applies. Adult shinny hockey: 12 – 1:30 p.m. Public skate: 2-3:30 p.m.
Village Square Leisure Centre is open from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. Regular admission applies. Adult shinny hockey: 12 – 1:30 p.m. Public skate: 12:30 - 2 p.m.

City of Calgary Parks
Park hours 5 a.m. to 11 p.m., daily. The Miniature train and mini-golf are closed for park redevelopment.
Inglewood Bird Sanctuary
Park hours: sunrise to sunset year-round. The Nature Centre will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Monday, Oct. 8.
Open daily from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. After mall hours, access from plus 15 (weekends/holidays: use Bankers Hall or Holt Renfrew bridges only).

Heritage Park Historical Village
Heritage Park wants to thank you, for another wonderful season! Enjoy free midway rides and flapjacks all weekend (free pancake breakfast for the first 500 guests before 10:30am). Savour the sights, smells and flavours of a traditional Thanksgiving on the prairies with cooking demonstrations and an optional Thanksgiving meal in the Wainwright Hotel (11 a.m.- 3:30p.m.). This is the Historical Village’s final weekend of the season. The park is open from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday, Sunday and the holiday Monday. Please visit HeritagePark.ca for more information.
