The community investment fund is about giving back to Calgarians through their communities. On July 25, 2011, City Council created this fund to support both new and lifecycle infrastructure projects throughout the city. From 2012 to 2016, the fund will invest $252 million on useful, tangible things that are integral to what makes a great city.
Citizens have told us that sport, art, culture, leisure activities and parks are important to quality of life and that safe, cared-for communities with reliable emergency services are communities they want to live in – and stay in. Community investment fund projects contribute to Calgarians’ quality of life by ensuring these things are available and well cared for. The fund will support a variety of projects – from small to large – in every quadrant of the city as well as important partnerships with community associations and social recreation groups – all of whom work collaboratively together to make Calgary a great place to live, work and play.
