Showcase your school at the 2013 Mayor’s Environment Expo

Teachers and students, we are inviting you to showcase your school at the 2013 Mayor's Environment Expo. Get involved in creating a generation of Calgarians that appreciate the beauty of our complex eco-system.

Showcase Schools take on fun, exciting projects that reduce their school’s ecological footprint. At the Expo, they celebrate their classrooms' environmental stewardship and share what they have learned with other students.

"I think it’s important to look after the environment because this is our home. It is our responsibility to look after it,” says grades eight Blessed Cardinal Newman student, Megan Keeler. “The Mayor’s Environment Expo helps us spread awareness about how to protect the environment and inspire other schools to join in on the action.”

The Mayor’s Environment Expo is a fun educational interactive event for youth, aimed at creating environmental stewards for Calgary. The 2013 Expo takes place June 4-6, 2013 at the Municipal Building.

All Showcase Schools qualify for a $250 grant from Encana to help with their projects. Free transportation to and from the Expo is provided by Calgary Transit, when possible.

Register your school today and become part of the legacy that helps expands actions in support of a healthier and more sustainable community.

Application deadline is December 14, 2011.
