City Matters - Calgary Safety Expo

On March 14 and 15, more than 3,100 students in Grades 4 to 7 will have the opportunity to learn about how to be safe at home, school and play.

The Safety Expo is in its 10th year of providing innovative, interactive and meaningful safety and injury prevention education to help students make responsible decisions about their personal safety.

Why is The Safety Expo important?
  • All activities and learning opportunities are designed based on research about the most common safety hazards and injuries facing Calgary children and youth.
  • The goal of the Expo is for children and youth to internalize what they learn and then participate in creating safe environments for themselves and others.
  • All activities at Safety Expo are designed to have connections to Alberta Education curricular outcomes, making it a valuable educational experience.
