Walkabouts: Calgary's first step to inspiring strong neighbourhoods

This week The City launched its new grass roots approach to improving the lives of Calgarians at a community level. “Inspiring Strong Neighbourhoods” empowers residents to identify opportunities and make recommendations to The City about programs and services that directly affect their community.

Twelve neighbourhoods have been chosen to participate in the pilot project and citizens are invited to join their local Alderman, Community Association members and representatives from City of Calgary Parks, Bylaw & Animal Services, Recreation and Community and Neighbourhood Services on community walkabouts throughout March and April:
  • Cedarbrae
  • Skyview Ranch
  • Crescent Heights
  • Forest Lawn
  • Wildwood*
  • Westgate*
  • Spruce Cliff*
  • Rosscarrock*
  • Beddington Heights
  • Bankview
  • Falconridge
  • Dover
*These four communities have been identified as a regional cluster.
