City Matters - 46th Annual Pathway & River Clean-up

On May 5 over 2,500 volunteers picked up garbage along Calgary’s major waterways as part of The City of Calgary Parks’ 46th Annual Pathway and River Cleanup.

Held to promote environmental stewardship, the event raises awareness of litter and encourages Calgarians to care for our highly-valued parks, pathways and river valleys.

It is important to properly pick-up and dispose of waste, and remove the litter that accumulates throughout the year, in order to keep parks and pathways clean. In a city of over one million people, it’s critical that we all play a role.

Calgarians are encouraged to get involved with other Parks’ volunteer opportunities, and can learn more, by visiting
