Last week The City of Calgary Roads attended the career fair at Jack James High School in southeast Calgary to promote a potential career with The City to students and explain to them the work Roads does in the community.
As part of the business unit’s succession planning Roads is planning to attend high schools across the city to talk to students about their future and the qualifications they need to pursue a career at Roads.
“Roads is actually an important part of your community and the fabric of the city of Calgary,” said Amanda Coates, Business Services manager with Roads. “It’s important for us to get out there and talk to the students because there’s certain qualifications they need to be an equipment operator at Roads.”
The types of qualifications required include obtaining a high school diploma or G.E.D. and having an Alberta driver’s license with a clean driving record.
