Public safety around construction sites: know what to look for

Construction is everywhere in this city and we want to educate citizens of Calgary to know what a construction site requires to ensure public safety.

Construction site safety education is an ongoing task as The City continues to educate both developers and the public on best practices. Our focus is on what the public can look for around construction sites to ensure their safety.

Most projects will include site fencing, site signage and sidewalk protection. Did you also know that all buildings over five stories being built in the downtown and the Beltline are required to submit public protection site safety plans with their application?

Watch the video to learn more about how you and your family can identify what a safe construction site should look like and who to contact if you see something that isn’t quite right. After all, we all play a role in safety.
