Helping each other

Katie Black, Acting Director of Community & Neighbourhood Services, explains how The City of Calgary supports citizens and communities to recover and prepare for potential flooding.

Communities in Calgary are resilient. Since last June, many have been taking the lead in developing their own neighbourhood response plans so that residents know exactly what they can do, and how they can mobilize, to help each other in a disaster. City staff with expertise in community development and emergency preparedness have been supporting Calgary communities to create their plans and provide them with resources they need along the way.
