Nomination Day for the 2013 General Election

Monday, September 23 is Nomination Day. Candidates intending to run in this year’s general Election will file their completed nomination papers and deposit from 9 a.m. to noon with the Returning Officer in Council Chambers at City Hall.

Returning Officer, Barb Clifford says, “Nomination Day is always an exciting day; it officially kicks off the Election. Once candidates are confirmed, they hit the ground running and before you know it, voting stations are open and it’s Election Day.”
An unofficial list of candidates running in the 2013 election will be available on after 2 p.m. on Nomination Day.

An official list will not be posted until after 2 p.m. on Sept. 24, as candidates have 24 hours to withdraw their names from the ballot.
