High demand for taxis anticipated due to snow storm and Halloween weekend
The City is asking taxi customers for their patience in the coming days due to high demand for taxis as a result of the recent snowfall and expected high demand this weekend as a result of Halloween events.
During this period, the taxi-travelling public is advised to be prepared for longer wait times and, if possible, to have contingency plans in place.
If a trip is no longer required, customers are generally asked to please try to cancel the order, but busy phone lines during high demand periods can make this impractical.
To help, customers are asked to refrain from calling multiple taxi companies for a single trip. This helps by preventing “no trips,” which is when a taxi arrives but the passenger has already left and was not able to cancel the order.
