City Matters: Affordable housing

The need for affordable housing in Calgary remains consistently high. The City of Calgary’s Affordable Housing division works on The City’s behalf to increase the supply of affordable, non-market rental housing.

Housing plays a fundamental role in the well being of individuals, families and communities. Safe and appropriate affordable housing benefits the entire city—socially, economically and environmentally. A move into City-owned affordable housing not only improves a family’s financial situation, but can have a positive impact on health, education and social well-being.
