City works to repair flood impacted riverbanks
During the June 20 flood the city's riverbanks were severely affected. 135 sites along the riverbanks of the Bow and Elbow Rivers are considered severely eroded.
On August 6, 2013 Frank Frigo, senior planning engineer with The City of Calgary Water Services, toured some of Calgary's most impacted riverbanks where erosion has pushed banks back almost 60 metres in some cases and debris continues to make the rivers dangerous and hard to navigate.
