Resiliency has been a key focus for Information Technology (IT), and since June 2013, additional measures have been taken to protect technology assets and services. Heather Reed-Fenske, Manager of Innovation & Collaboration, speaks about IT's response and recovery to the June 2013 flood, and the road ahead.
Immediately post-flood, Information Technology moved many City sites on to The City’s new data network, Calgary City Net (CCN). Additionally, phones in the municipal complex were moved on to the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone switch, which provides higher levels of redundancy.
