Update on river flowrates - June 18

Tom Sampson, Acting Director of the Calgary Emergency Management Agency, and Rick Valdarchi, Manager of the River Flood Mitigation Program provided an update to the media on current river flow rates this morning.

"Current water levels on the Bow and Elbow rivers are nothing to cause any level of concern," says Rick Valdarchi, Manager of the River Flood Mitigation Program. The City lowered the levels of the reservoir Monday to make room for anticipated rain and continue to monitor the situation, but feel we are in good shape.

The City will continue to provide new information to Calgarians as we learn of it. You can also visit Calgary.ca/floodinfo for the latest updates.
